Capacity and Inventory Reports
The primary goals of the LMLIP are to strengthen the capacity of the community in serving and integrating immigrants, and to enhance delivery of integration services to all immigrants. For the 2016 report, an online survey was adapted from previous surveys used by the LMLIP to develop profiles of organizations in the community and the services they provide, their relationships with other organizations, future planning, and evaluation of outcomes. The survey also assessed perceptions of the LMLIP.
The 2013 report was based on information from a review of an initial database produced by the Welcoming Communities Initiative, as well additional survey and interview responses from service providers in the community.

Speaking Freely: A Case for Professional Health Interpretation in London, Ontario
The LMLIP commissioned a position paper to explore and articulate the importance of professional interpretation and to identify gaps in the London-Middlesex health care system. The paper analyses the current situation in the area and presents strong evidence concerning the value of professional interpretation. It concludes there are significant gaps that contribute to sub-optimal care for immigrants who lack English proficiency and recommends effective and efficient actions that system leaders can take to make improvements.

“Ontario Pre-service Teacher Education: The Case for Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Training” position paper highlights equity, inclusion and diversity as priority topics for consideration in the curriculum of Ontario’s pre-service teacher education.

Welcoming All Voices
Welcoming All Voices is a resource that supports parent leaders to build inclusive parent involvement and engagement with their children’s education. The resource provides ideas and strategies to support parent groups to be welcoming and inclusive with all parents, and focuses on welcoming immigrant parents. The content is designed to stimulate discussion and presents practical strategies and skills, and the activities were designed so that parents can choose which activities are best for their schools. “We expect this will be a useful resource to parent leaders in the school community in their work with all parents” says Huda Hussein, project coordinator of the London & Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership.
The Welcoming All Voices resource binder and DVD were developed by a collaboration of parents, teachers, and community partners andhas been delivered to schools in early September. There are two copies, one for the school and one for the school-based parent group, for every publicly funded school in London, St.Thomas and Oxford county.
How do we make our community more welcoming for immigrants?
On March 1, 2017, the LMLIP organized a Day of Learning to identify stakeholders who are involved or who could become involved in creating a more welcoming community for immigrants in London and Middlesex and discuss strengths, barriers and explore opportunities for creating a more welcoming community for immigrants in London and Middlesex. The summary report reflects the discussions and identifies tangible actions for the community to explore implementing.
LMLIP Strategic Multimedia Communication Plan
In January 2011, the LMLIP commissioned City Media to prepare the Strategic Multimedia Communication Plan (SMCP). The SMCP is one of the key strategies identified by the community in the LMLIP Community Immigrant Strategic Plan (2010) to engage immigrant and non-immigrant residents in a conversation about immigration in London and Middlesex. The strategies discussed can be adopted by any group seeking to enhance integration. Five ethno-cultural groups were given media literacy training when the plan was launched in 2011.

Senior Support Services Brochure
The Settlement Sub-council of LMLIP worked with the Migration and Ethnic Relations Centre, Western University to identify and map free, at cost and low cost senior services which immigrant seniors may not be aware of in London. The map serves as a tool for service providers for coordination and planning to fill gaps and maximize resource utilization.

This list of local and regional resources on diversity, equity and cultural competency training was developed by a collaborative group from the LMLIP Health & Wellbeing, LMLIP Inclusion & Civic Engagement and LMLIP Justice & Protection Services Sub-councils in consultation with various community partners.

Understanding cultural backgrounds
The resources below were compiled as part of the Immigrant Community Capacity and Engagement (ICCE) Project which was conceptualized by the LMLIP Justice & Protection Services Sub-council. The project aims to educate immigrants about justice and protection services in their own language and service providers about clients’ cultural backgrounds. The John Howard Society of London and District is the lead on the ICCE project.
