After graduating from a full-time, college or university level program of at least eight months’ duration in a recognized designated learning institution in Canada, you may become eligible to apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for a Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP). This permit allows graduates to seek employment and to gain invaluable Canadian work experience. This experience can be used to apply for permanent resident status.
