CultureWorks is an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) school that prepares international students to succeed in Canadian universities and colleges.
Immersive English for Academic Purposes teaches the fundamentals of English, as well as North American culture and academic traditions. Students are prepared to take notes, read and write critically, read and write academic texts, participate actively in problem-based learning, and make presentations.
Courses include: Academic Listening & Speaking, Academic Reading, Academic Writing & Grammar, Pronunciation, and test preparation. Canadian Studies combines knowledge and experience through shared activities.
Academically qualified students are offered conditional acceptance by King’s University College, Brescia University College, or Western University. Successful completion of the CultureWorks program gives students direct entrance into university studies.
The CultureWorks program is delivered on the campuses of King’s University College, Brescia University College, and Western University. CultureWorks class sizes are small (18 students).
Students are assigned an Academic Advisor who meets with them to discuss their progress in the English for Academic Purposes program.
As members of the university community, CultureWorks students have access to facilities and services on campus, including visa and study permit assistance, medical insurance help, and housing coordinators that are available 24 hours per day.
